Delight ALL your Senses

A garden is a place of wonder not only for your eyes and your nose, but you your sense of hearing, touch, and taste, too! I for one love to pack my garden with new and interesting plants that appeal to as many senses as possible, and then invite neighbors and friends to walk through to touch, taste, smell, see, and hear. There are times my garden looks a little rough because it's been picked, kicked, and trampled, especially by some little visitors, but I don't mind. I'm happy to sacrifice aesthetics for experience and share the love of the garden with all.

If you have littles or a bit of whimsy inside, consider planting a sensory garden. I have many ideas for mud kitchens, natural sand pits, water play, and, of course, sensational plants, that I'd love to share.

In the meantime, see what kind of sensory delights already exist in your space with my Sensory Nature Hunt.
